my BIGGEST tip for beginner ice skaters is learn how to fall safely & get up safely ⛸️✨ this is the first thing I teach people who skate with me. 1. For safety reasons of course. 2. So your fear of falling doesn’t hold you back from progressing as much as you could be. I hope these falling tips come in handy whether you’re planning to take up skating as your main sport or plan on skating recreationally just during the holidays! 🤗

With more people getting into figure skating each year I wanted to post this video again to share the process of getting fitted for new figure skates 🥰⛸️✨ it’s been a year since I got these boots and other than the scuffs I’ve put on them 🤭 they’re still holding up well! Love my @jackson.ultima synergy’s ✨ I’ve since switched from this blade to the @MK Blades Phantom Revolutions & both blades are great tbh! But I prefer the phantoms due to the 7ft rocker. I can find the sweet spot in my spins better with it. Hope this info is super helpful! ☺️

In rentals too! @Em🧚🏽‍♂️ did her thing on day 1 of her beginner figure skating journey! 👏🏽 like I couldn’t even stop on the ice until a couple weeks into mine & she learned how to on her 1st day! 🥹 Amazing 🔥 As soon as she told me during our first hang that figure skating has been on her vision board for so long & she’s never given it a chance I knew that our second hang HAD to be at the rink. My goal is to help inspire people to follow their dreams, no matter what they are & I’m so glad I could directly have a hand in helping Emely get started with her figure skating dream!! ⛸️✨ Excited to see her first steps flourish & progress over time 🫶🏽 - December 16th, 2024 She’s looking into getting her own skates. Blade Care 101! ⛸️✨ 1. Get your blades sharpened every 30 hours on ice. This will vary based on the level/moves that you are doing. Smaller moves might take longer to dull out the blades and bigger moves might dull them out faster. It also varies based on the amount of power a skater skates with. 30 hours is just a ball park number, but you’ll know for sure when they need to be sharpened if you keep slipping out of your edges more than normal 😅 I get mine sharpened at Skaters Landing in CT. 2. Wearing your hard guards when walking on any non-ice surfaces. Normally the black mats/flooring at rinks are fine to walk on without hard guards, but if you want to be extra good with your blades a good rule of thumb is to just put them on as soon as you step off the ice. (confession: I’m guilty of walking around the rink without my guards on 🙈) 3. Wipe your blades down with a microfiber towel when you’re done skating. A microfiber towel is going to absorb the best and ensure all that moisture is removed from your blades so they don’t rust. 4. Before you put your skates away post session be sure to put your soakers on. Even though you just wiped them down with a towel, the temperature change from being on the ice to off the ice and then outside the rink could cause the blade to create more moisture on its own and the soaker will soak that moisture up as the temperature of the blade regulates. Once you get home remove the soakers & let your blades breathe until the next session! I got mine & my towel from @Dragonflice btw! 💜✨ Hope this is helpful for all the new skaters recruited this winter 🥰💖 How often do you get your blades sharpened?

IT’S NEVER TOO LATE! Started at 24 years old & never looked back. Skating literally changed my life 🥹 I’m beyond happy I started back in August 2021. On days where I get sad that I don’t have my axel yet I make & watch videos like this to remind myself that I’ve come sooo far.
