I’m not sure how I went so long without making one of my nearest & dearest designs! 😪 She has been missed! I’m currently revisiting some of my celestial designs, so I absolutely HAD to bring this back. 🌙🌞 This sun & moon design was born over 7 years ago now when I really began experimenting with my own style of wire wrapping & pushing the boundaries of what I thought I was capable of pulling off. I’ve made videos of this design before where I wrapped them in copper wire. One thing about copper is it oxidizes very easily, so I typically choose to oxidize it myself using liver of sulphur so that the appearance of the metal is consistent with how it will look long term! For this design in particular, the oxidation process tends to incite outrage because people love the shiny pink metal. 😅 There are protective coatings you can apply to natural copper to prevent it from oxidizing, but they tend to slowly rub off with wear. The best long term solution is to upgrade to rose gold filled wire which is what I chose to do for this piece! It comes with a slightly higher price tag, but that beautiful pink color is there to stay. ✨This pendant found a home in my last shop update.
