Wearing my heart on my sleeve – I know I get a lot of hate whenever I post about nursing, but ever since I quit my nursing job in 2024 I’ve been really struggling. It was one of the hardest decisions I had to make as nursing was always something I saw as my lifelong path, but as anyone who is or has been a nurse can attest, it’s a HARD job. I ultimately had to make a choice to prioritize my mental health. Nursing will always be one of the greatest factors that shaped me into who I am today and I will always be grateful for what this community gave me There truly is not a group of people I admire more than those who continue to give their all to this work, day in and day out. With Nurse Appreciation Week falling in Mental Health Awareness Month, I’ve been wanting to do something to give back. When I was presented with the opportunity to partner with @seeav to give back to my local nursing community, it was a no-brainer. In shooting this campaign with local Charleston nurses (both old friends and new) we hope to bring awareness to the difficulty nurses face at work and show our appreciation. I hope everyone can recognize this as me using my platform to positively give back to this amazing community I hold near and dear to my heart.
